About Ropode.org
Independent information on cylinder deactivation, written for GM V8 owners who want their engine running the way it was built.
Our story
Ropode.org started from a problem every modern GM V8 owner runs into: AFM and DFM shut down half your cylinders to save fuel, and the hardware that makes that possible is the hardware owners keep replacing.
There is plenty of forum noise about it and very little plain information. So we built one page that answers the questions people actually type into Google — what a Ropode AFM DFM disabler does, whether it works, what it costs you, and which module fits which truck.
We do not sell or ship anything. We compare modules on Amazon and earn a commission when you buy through our links, which never changes your price.
How we evaluate
Value 01
Most one-star reviews in this category are fitment errors, not bad products. We lead with the year and engine question because it decides everything else.
Value 02
We have not run bench testing and we do not claim to have. What we publish is a buyer's checklist weighed against what owners report after real miles.
Value 03
Fuel economy drops. It will not repair a failed lifter. A buyer who knows that before ordering is a buyer who keeps the module and leaves a fair review.
